A three-day trek to Kareri Lake is a perfect way to explore the outdoors in this short span. Kareri Lake lies in the Dhauladhar Ranges of the Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. This is a glacial lake that is the starting point for the Niyund River. Out of the various trails near the town of Dharamshala, the trail to Kareri remains mostly unexplored and hence an ideal trail for hiking in peace and quiet amidst nature. The trail is mostly well defined except for the last stretch leading to the lake. During the most of the trek, you walk on the ancient stone pathway that starts from the Kareri village and goes through the forest.
